In October 2017, we launched an exciting pop-up shop for one month in Ashford Highstreet: The Beehive was born.
The Beehive opened it’s doors on 2nd October 2017 and was a second hand clothes shop for the general public, whilst also working with local services to offer free clothing to people who can’t afford to buy them. We are so passionate about bringing life to Ashford, and this was an amazing way for us to serve and love the people in our community who need a little extra support. Quality is at the heart of The Beehive, and we wanted to offer a beautiful shopping experience for every customer, whether they’ve popped in to browse, or been referred to us- People matter, and we loved being a part of Ashford’s town centre.
It was such an exciting venture, and we loved seeing so many people popping in and out during the month. We received so many amazing donations of great quality clothes, which meant that we were able to give away over £1400 worth of clothes to fantastic women, helping to kit them out for job interviews, every day life, and making them feel beautiful (which for a lot of these women, it had been a very long time since they’ve been able to feel that way).
This shop was open for one month, but that’s not the end of The Beehive story, and there are plans in the pipeline for a more permanent way of keeping this dream alive. So watch this space…
But for now, here’s a little look around The Beehive!
‘The Beehive: A beautiful shopping experience; from the community, for the community.’
